About Choir + Plus

CHOIR+PLUS is a Wednesday afternoon program for children in K5-5th grade, combining choir rehearsals with an activity period of Bible study, crafts or recreation.  Children are divided into two groups by age and grade.  They learn vocal and music skills using songs and hymns based on scripture and Christian tradition.  They gain a greater understanding of God's word and their own ability to contribute to the life and worship of the church.  The choirs sing in church on some Sundays throughout the school year, and participate in a musical production each semester which is usually performed on a Wednesday evening.  CHOIR+PLUS is led by Bo and Ari Dickinson, Music Directors, and Chip Summers, Senior Minister, as well as volunteers from the church.

We offer playground time and an after-school snack when the program begins.  Members and non-members of Bethesda are welcome to CHOIR+PLUS.  Families need to be aware that joining CHOIR+PLUS indicates you are making a year-long commitment to our program and are willing to attend Bethesda's events at which the choirs are scheduled to sing.  This includes a few Sunday worship services.

CHURCH BUS PICKUP  We offer transportation to CHOIR+PLUS from the Camden Elementary School.  The Church bus will pick up children whose parents have indicated they want transportation.  We must have your signature on the registration form in order to pick up your child from school.  In addition, the school needs a written note from you giving permission for this to happen. PLEASE CALL THE CHURCH OFFICE ON WEDNESDAY MORNING IF YOUR CHILD WILL NOT RIDE THE BUS THAT DAY.  Otherwise, the bus will stay at the school waiting for your child and this causes delays, worries and confusion.

FEE  Snack fee for the year is $10 for one child and $5 for each additional child from the same family.  Please send cash or a check made out to Bethesda with the completed registration form to the church offfice.

FOR OUR CHILDREN'S SAFETY  The playground will be supervised for early drop-offs beginning at 2:30 pm.  Children may not stay on the playground after 5:15 pm without parental supervision.  Please pick up your children on time.
