Health Ministry

Bethesda’s health ministry is led by our Faith Community Nurse, a registered nurse who works as a volunteer member of the church staff. The mission of Faith Community Nurse is to continue Christ’s healing ministry through a holistic approach to caring for the mind, body, and soul. The Faith Community Nurse enhances systems already in place, working closely with various agencies, health providers, and other health professionals. The focus of the Faith Community Nurse’s work is four-fold: health educator, health advocate, health counselor and referral agent, and leader of the health cabinet.

Bethesda members make up the Health Cabinet which guides health education activities for the congregation. Among other activities, the Health Cabinet takes blood pressure readings at Coffee Fellowship on the second Sunday of the month.

For further information please contact Debbie Herman, Faith Community Nurse, through the church office at (803) 432-4593.

Member Care, Crisis Care & Support Teams

Bethesda’s members provide support for members and their families who have special needs due to illness, death, military deployment and other causes. Several committees provide nurture, companionship, transportation, and meals as necessary. Please contact the church office for help from one of the committees.
