Are you or someone you know currently grieving the loss of a loved one?  We all experience grief at some point in our lives.  Each of us deals with grief in our own unique way. GriefShare is a time-tested and effective process for helping navigate the turbulent path through grief.  We will be hosting a 13-week program to help those dealing with grief starting Sunday, February 3rd at 4:30PM in John Knox Hall.  Carolyn Mendelsohn Drake and Darlene Pernell will lead the discussion. If you or a friend is interested in attending, please call Holley (432-4593) to reserve your place.

Men of the church meet on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May, at 7:30 a.m. for the Men’s Breakfast.  They enjoy a meal prepared by the men, and then participate in a devotion to start the day off right.  All men of the church are encouraged to join this group any time for good food, fellowship, and divine inspiration!  If you like biscuits, eggs, grits and other breakfast foods, please join us!

Health Ministry

Bethesda’s health ministry is led by our Parish Nurse, a registered nurse who works as a volunteer member of the church staff.  The mission of Parish Nurse is to continue Christ’s healing ministry through a holistic approach to caring for the mind, body, and soul.  The Parish Nurse enhances systems already in place, working closely with various agencies, health providers, and other health professionals.  The focus of the Parish Nurse’s work is four-fold:  health educator, health advocate, health counselor and referral agent, and leader of the health cabinet.

Bethesda members make up the Health Cabinet which guides health education activities for the congregation.  Among other activities, the Health Cabinet takes blood pressure readings at Coffee Fellowship on the second Sunday of the month.

Thanks to our Health Cabinet members:  Joy Parrott, Jane Clyburn, Katie Pope, Judy Martin, Ken Carson, Lisa Martin, Jerry Hughes, Lisa Palmer, Helen Young, Renee Thomas, and Cindy Dieringer .

For further information please contact Joy Parrott, Volunteer Parish Nurse through the church office at 432-4593.
